Unfortunately just didn't have much to work with, given it was (IMO) the weakest book of the series. (And what was the deal with Michael Gambon's accent?) Overall not bad, but not of the same calibre as some of the others.

Had it's good moments but had some slightly odd departures from the book (specifically the "living" maze).

Unfortunately just feels like the pacing wasn't right, given that its a standalone film that just feels like buildup to part 2. Pretty loyal to the book and well executed, just not quite to the same level.ĭeathly hallows part 1. Though with columbus and Williams it feels like I'm listening to the home alone soundtrack.Ĭhamber of secrets. While it's the lightest, its still enjoyable. While the final battle took a slight departure from the book, it is a thrilling, well paced ride of a film. Excellent music, and they finally got dumbledore spot on.ĭeathly hallows part 2. Goblet of Fire (this one is a mess, and I think if any book would need two movies it'd be this one too much is cut, what is left is paced way too fast and I wanted to see the fucking Quidditch World Cup match, obligatory 'HARRY POTTER, DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME INTO THE GOBLET OF FIYAH?!') Half-Blood Prince (middle of the road, an okay movie and Snape gets some sorely needed character development)ĭeathly Hallows Part 1 (would rank it higher, but I can't stand the Ron grudge, am too petty to declare it a fault of the book, and the pacing is iffy anyway)Ĭhamber of Secrets (I have nothing too critical to say about this one, but I don't feel like it left enough of an impression to place higher) Philosopher's Stone (the whimsy of the first film is contagious) Order of the Phoenix (Umbridge is a better villain than Voldemort, fight me) Prisoner of Azkaban (amazing soundtrack, fantastic change of mood from earlier movies, loved the scene where Harry flies on Buckbeak)ĭeathly Hallows Part 2 (ended the series satisfyingly, the Snape pensieve scene was the climax of the ENTIRE series and it was executed perfectly)
